Martin took his first musical steps at the end of the 70s and was a bass player in several school bands in Essen.

He took a break from playing in bands for a number of years but returned to music in 1995, playing for several Düsseldorf and Essen bands.

He supported his old school friend Erik Scheppan in Great Big Kiss and Jailbreak until the pair teamed up with Wolfram Schaaf and Jens Koch to form the ROLLING BLUES BOYS.

Martin studied music under Uli Eisner, Hans ‘Yankee’ Meier, Eric Kisser and at the Bass Academy in Hamburg.

Alongside rock and the blues, he is a self-confessed fan of classical music.
